Café Rebrand

Cafe 1908
D'Youville University

Objective

To develop a refreshed visual identity for a campus café, focusing on creating a cohesive logo and pattern system that could strengthen brand recognition and improve the overall customer perception of the space.

Approach

Inspired by the architecture of the building the café resides in, the logo was designed as a simple, adaptable mark intended for high-frequency real-world applications such as signage, packaging, and digital touchpoints. Alongside this, I developed a complementary pattern system that extended the identity beyond the logo, adding visual consistency across branded materials.

The pattern was designed to reinforce recognition and create a more distinctive and memorable brand presence, ensuring the identity felt unified across all customer-facing surfaces.

Outcome

Following the implementation of the updated visual identity, the café experienced a significant increase in sales, reflecting significantly improved visibility and stronger brand recall.
